Hello everyone! This is Gina! So…I usually let Nate handle the Internet-related work, but I decided that he’s too busy to do everything so I guess I better update the blog if I want it to happen in this lifetime. :)
In January we FINALLY ripped out all the carpet on the main floor of our house and put in the hardwood floors I’ve been dreaming about for years. Since then we’ve been trying to get a new “big girl” room set up for Alex and a nursery ready for the new baby. I’ve been promising everyone pictures of the changes so here they are…
This is what Alex’s new “big girl” room used to look like. It was her playroom and where we kept the piano. The toys are now moved downstairs. Thank you Barbara & Leigh Ann and JP & Michelle for all the toys!!! The room would be empty without you! And, thank you Aunt Rochelle for the cute “ALEX” lettering. :) (By the way, that’s a pull-up on Alex’s head. Potty training has been a challenge for many, many months. AHHHHHHHHH!)
This is now Alex’s bedroom. Thank you Uncle Clair and Aunt Rochelle for the bed and all the help with the dresser! And, thank you JP for helping Nate get that beast of a dresser into the bedroom (we all wondered if that was actually going to happen!). Alex LOVES her new room…and especially her big bed. :)
This is what the nursery looked like when Alex was a baby.
This is what the nursery looks like now! Nate did the majority of the work (taping and painting) on the stripes. Don’t they look great? I think that “little dude” will like it. :)
This is basically what the family room looked like. (The drapes were different but I don’t have a picture of them.)
This is what the family room looks like now. I still need A LOT of decorations for the walls, but my attention has been focused on the bedrooms. I’ll get the family room decorated eventually (maybe before Christmas). If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please help me! I am quite handicapped when it comes to decorating! :) (Also, I don’t think the pictures do this room justice. It looks better in real life.) :)
So, now you know what I’ve been doing as a stay-at-home mom. Good times! :)
